Annual Renewal Strategy

Most Brokers Don't Shop Renewals.
We Do — Every Year.

The industry standard is to renew with the same carrier, year after year, without going back to the market. We don't work that way. Every renewal, we make sure your insurance policy is fully re-evaluated — classifications, claims history, exposure changes, and current carrier appetite — and remarketed to competing carriers. Sometimes the incumbent is still the right call. Often it isn't. Either way, you'll know it was an active decision, not a default.

Frequently Asked

Common Questions, Answered.

How are commercial insurance brokers paid? Does it cost me anything?

Nothing — $0. Direct-to-carrier means you're shopping alone. We're paid by the carriers, not by you, so the premium is the same either way — but you get a personal shopper working the market on your behalf, handling your renewal, and helping you through the claim process. Same price, very different outcome.

My renewal premium went up. What can I actually do?

A premium increase isn't a verdict — it's the starting point for a conversation. Most increases trace back to specific drivers we can review: your experience modification, classification accuracy, payroll changes, claim activity, or simply the wrong carrier for your risk today. We'll review the renewal quote, identify what's driving it, and remarket the account to carriers whose appetite fits your operations. Sometimes we save you money. Sometimes we confirm your current pricing is the best on the market — which is also useful to know.

When should I start shopping my renewal?

60–90 days before your renewal date. That gives us enough time to review your account, gather updated information, approach the carrier market, and present real options before the deadline forces a decision. Earlier is better. Calling 10 days out limits everyone's leverage — including ours.

How fast can I get a certificate of insurance?

Same day, usually within one to two hours. Email or call us with the certificate holder's information, any additional insured language, and the timing — we handle the rest. For contractors with ongoing GC or landlord relationships, we can set up recurring certificates that auto-update at each renewal so you never have to ask.

What happens if I have a claim?

Call or email us as soon as you can — including after hours. We open the claim with the carrier, follow up to make sure an adjuster is assigned quickly, and stay involved through resolution. The carrier handles the claim itself, but we help you navigate the process, advocate when something gets stuck, and make sure you understand what's happening at each step.

What kinds of commercial insurance do you handle?

Every major commercial line — workers' compensation, general liability, commercial auto, commercial property, excess and umbrella, inland marine, surety bonds, EPLI, and lessor's risk. As an independent brokerage, we place each line with the carrier whose appetite fits your operations — and coordinate them as one account.
